How Screen Translate handles selected screenshot content

Data we process

When you actively select an area for translation, Screen Translate may process the selected screenshot area, OCR text, translated text, target language, request status, account email, free translation balance, subscription status, order identifiers, basic device and browser information, IP address, and error logs. Full payment card numbers are not stored by us.

Data we do not intentionally collect

Screen Translate is not designed to read pages when you are not using the extension. It is not designed to collect your complete browsing history, keyboard input, passwords, payment card numbers, or full-page content outside the area you choose for translation.

How we use data

We use data to provide OCR and translation, manage free translations and paid subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to support requests, maintain security, and comply with payment or legal obligations.

Third-party processing

Selected screenshot content and extracted text may be sent to a third-party model provider for OCR and translation. Depending on the configured production model, this may include Moonshot AI (Kimi), Zhipu AI (GLM), or Alibaba Cloud DashScope (Qwen). Google may process account sign-in information. Waffo Pancake processes order, tax, invoice, and payment information; payment card data is processed by Waffo Pancake and is not stored on our servers. Hosting (Vercel), database (Neon), email, and error monitoring providers may process operational data needed to run the Service.

International transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located outside your country, including in the United States and Singapore. Where personal information is transferred across borders, we use safeguards such as data processing agreements that incorporate appropriate contractual protections.

Retention

Selected screenshots are processed to provide OCR and translation and are not retained as long-term account content. We retain other data only as long as needed for the purposes below, then delete or anonymize it:

• Account information: while your account is active, and for 90 days after deletion.
• Transaction and order records: as required for accounting and tax purposes.
• Support records: up to 2 years.
• Security and error logs: up to 12 months.

Security and breach notification

We use HTTPS for data transmission, access controls for backend systems, and least-privilege handling of service credentials. No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident affects your personal information, we will notify you and the relevant authorities within 72 hours where required by law.

Your data rights

Where applicable, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing, data portability, objection to processing, or withdrawal of consent. We respond to requests within 30 days. To exercise these rights, contact azuokit@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children's privacy

The Service is intended for users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a child has provided information to us, contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Limited use and no sale

We do not sell selected screenshot content or personal information, including as defined under applicable laws such as the CCPA. We do not use selected screenshot content for personalized advertising. Human access to user content is limited to cases such as support, abuse investigation, security, legal compliance, or when you explicitly ask us to inspect an issue. The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Policy changes

For material changes, we will provide at least 15 days' advance notice through a website announcement or your registered email, and update the "Last updated" date. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
