Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 19, 2026. This policy describes the Screen Translate website, Chrome extension, and related backend service.
When you actively select an area for translation, Screen Translate may process the selected screenshot area, OCR text, translated text, target language, request status, account email, free translation balance, subscription status, order identifiers, basic device and browser information, IP address, and error logs.
Screen Translate is not designed to read pages when you are not using the extension. It is not designed to collect your complete browsing history, keyboard input, passwords, payment card numbers, or full-page content outside the area you choose for translation.
We use data to provide OCR and translation, manage free translations and paid subscriptions, prevent abuse, troubleshoot errors, respond to support requests, maintain security, and comply with payment or legal obligations.
Selected screenshot content and extracted text may be sent to model providers for OCR and translation. Google may process account sign-in information. Payment providers may process order, tax, invoice, and payment information. Hosting, email, analytics, and error monitoring providers may process operational data needed to run the service.
Selected screenshots are processed to provide OCR and translation, then not retained as long-term account content. OCR text, translation results, usage records, order records, and security logs may be retained for support, accounting, fraud prevention, and service reliability.
We do not sell selected screenshot content. We do not use selected screenshot content for personalized advertising. Human access to user content is limited to cases such as support, abuse investigation, security, legal compliance, or when you explicitly ask us to inspect an issue.
The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
We use HTTPS for data transmission, access controls for backend systems, and least-privilege handling of service credentials. No system is perfectly secure, but we design the product to minimize unnecessary data collection.
You can stop using the extension, uninstall it from Chrome, or contact support to request access, correction, or deletion of account-related data where applicable.
